Start your day with the treasures of the Bible
While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled. John 17:12
Jesus is able to save unto the uttermost those that come unto God by Him (Hebrews 7:25). Because Jesus “himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted” Hebrews 2:18. Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be our Lord (Romans 14:9).
And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. John 17:13.
The word joy that Jesus speaks here, is the same joy that is found in Matthew 2:10, when the wise men saw the star over the place where Jesus was. It is the same joy of the man that found treasure in a field, and for the joy thereof, he went and sold all that he had and bought the field. The joy here, is of a lost soul that finds the gospel in the holy scriptures, sees what Jesus has done for him, understands that Jesus and the sacrifice he made is worth more than life itself, and hides this treasure, until he has made it his own, until he can say that it his experience. (Matthew 13:44).
