Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.John 16:33
There was a time when I was ashamed of Christ. If asked point blank, something inside me would arise and I might defend my faith as feebly as I knew how.. but when the decision was mine and I had time to think, I was quick to shy away from the proclamation of the truths of God’s Word. By God’s grace, though I am still weak and feeble, I am no longer ashamed of my Saviour, for I know He lives and makes intercession for me. He has given me a work to do in this world and with my hand to the plow, in His strength I will never turn back.
Call To Action: Let us never be ashamed of our Saviour. In my life, shame arose because I knew little to nothing of His love for me and the great sacrifice He made on my behalf. Acquaint yourself with God, go humbly to Him in prayer and ask for wisdom and understanding that you would begin to grasp and comprehend the glorious truths of His Word. Then, as the truth sinks in, your mind will be quickened, your heart will be lifted up above the things of this world, and you will have no cause for shame, for you will know beyond all doubt that there is a God in Heaven, that cares for you and loves you.
